Sta. Elena and Eastridge recently completed their respective qualifiers for the course-hopping Mizuno Scramble Classic with Bones Floro and Vinice Godio leading the winners after posting a series record score of 11-under-par.
Floro and Godio, both club champions at Sta. Elena, took a seven-stroke win over Bryan Cockrell and Bing Liboro in Division I of the 18-hole tourney.
Winning the other two divisions at Sta. Elena were the husband-and-wife tandems of Daniel-Carmela Lee and Joe-Frey Sullivan to complete the Sta. Elena team for next year’s grand finals.
The Lees nipped Leslie Limsico-Erika Morihiro in the countback for the Division 2 plum after both pairs returned 71s. The Sullivans, with a score of 74, beat Makoto Maegawa and Gabby Villareal by two.
Over at Eastridge in Binangonan, Rizal, the pairs of Col. Ted Runes-King Sumulong, Col. Alex Ignacio-Allen Santos and Patrick Pajares-Randy Cabangon grabbed the three slots disputed.
