Ocean Fresh-Lyceum made it five in a row by beating Talk and Text-KABAKA, 88-82, in the MBL-Danny Espiritu Cup basketball championship at the Koliseyum ng Bayan, along Washington St., Makati City.
Joseph Abaya fired two triples and Jerwin Gaco scored a twinner as the Seafood Experts overhauled a five-point deficit to prevail.
Talk and Text dropped to 3-2.
In the midget exhibition game, Giants downed the Dream Team, 57-45.
Richard Morehon and Roger Morehon combined for 47 points for the Giants of coach Jon Reyes.
Phat Patricio paced Dream Team with 29 points.
The Espiritu Cup game in Makati was held in cooperation with Makati Councior Junjun Binay, kagawad Honey “Popcorn” Lacia, gym manager Beb Arriola and coordinators Bebs Bantug, Larry Vicente, Ampot Babasol and Lito de Guzman._ Over at the Arellano gym, Vescon-Cerel Manpower nipped Philippine Navy, 81-77, for its first win in five tries.
