Team Stripped Life dominates triaXion
Team Stripped Life topped the dodge ball and wall climbing competitions to reign supreme in the first TriaXion Xtreme Challenge recently at the Market! Market! in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.
The event featured three of the most popular urban indoor games, with participants vying for honors in dodge ball, wall climbing and laser tag.
A total of 45 entries saw action in the event, with Stripped Life, composed of eight foreign indoor sports enthusiasts, using its height advantage to the hilt to win.
Team PRC, a squad of young urban professionals, finished second in dodge ball and third in the sport climbing event to finish second overall.
Each team was awarded points based on its finish in each event, with Edge and Tenacious D winding up tied for third place in the meet backed by Manila Bulletin, Action and Fitness, Speed, 103.5 Max FM, STI, McDonald’s and Market! Market!
Stripped Life swept PRC, 2-0, in the best-of-three dodge ball finals while Tenacious D emerged as the best in the laser tag battle at the LazerXtreme arena on the fourth level of the shopping center.
The foreigners again used their physical advantage to rule the sports climbing event at Camp Sandugo on the fifth floor to seal the win.
“It was a lot of fun; there was no pressure at all. After each event, you can’t really kick yourself for losing because you have to focus on the next event,” said PRC’s Air Urquiola, a manager of an Ortigas-based consultancy firm.
Three groups promoting indoor urban sports–LazerXtreme, Camp Sandugo and the Philippine Dodgeball Association–joined hands to hold the event that drew a huge crowd.
“It was a very exciting event and we are happy the participants had a great time. It turned out to be even more fun than we imagined,” said LazerXtreme vice president Martial Beck.
“We were surprised with the turnout and now we are looking forward to holding a second one, which should be bigger and better, with more prizes at stake,” Beck added.
