Young stars wage final battle in Milo jr tennis

After dominating the competitions in their respective regions, top young netters wage a final battle to determine the best of the lot in the 2008 Milo Junior Tennis Cup national finals Oct. 4-5 in San Beda-Alabang.

A total of 21 bets, representing the best from the North and South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao regions, take the court as they dispute top honors in the unisex 10-under, boys’ 14-under, boys’ 12-under, girls’ 14-under and girls’ 12-under divisions.

Gunning for glory are North Luzon champions Jed Olivarez, Kyle Joseph, Katrina Orteza, Dheo Talatayod and Patricia Orteza; South Luzon conquerors Alber Lim Jr., Mark Escares, Erika Lagura, Joshua Santiago and Pailou Mojica.

From the Visayas, the winners are Christopher Encarnacion, Adrian Parangan, Jana Pages, Fritz Satera and Sally Mae Siso.

The Mindanao titlists are Christian Lopez, Francis Edilbert Alcantara, Candice Malinis, Isidro Olan, Al-Khadi Jainul and Lynet Palasan.

Winners will also get a chance to compete at the Malaysia Junior Tennis Circuit to be held at Selangor Nov. 24-28, Langkawi Nov. 24-28, Perlis Nov.29-Dec. 3 and in Penang Dec. 4-8 this year.

Now on its 21st year, the Milo Junior Tennis Cup is being held in line with the commitment of Milo to promote sports on the grassroots level and discover and nurture the country’s next sports heroes.
