Adamson exec files complaint vs deputy commish

-

An Adamson official yesterday filed a letter of complaint against UAAP deputy commissioner Ogie Narvasa for conduct unbecoming a member of the technical committee of the country’s top varsity league.

Adamson Falcons team manager Romeo “Don” Lerit, Jr. filed the complaint through school board representative Fr. Max Rendon, CM, asking the league board chaired by UP chancellor Dr. Sergio Cao to investigate the incident.

Meanwhile, La Salle coach Franz Pumaren is set to return on Sept. 5 in time for their crucial duel with archrival Ateneo on Saturday.

Lerit, one of Adamson’s top 75 alumni, has sought an apology from Narvasa, a former PBL and MBA commissioner who allegedly shoved the Adamson official after La Salle’s 84-78 overtime win over Adamson over the weekend.

Narvasa, for his part, said he is still awaiting the official letter but stressed he did nothing wrong.

“I haven’t seen it,” Narvasa told The STAR. “What happened basically he probably did not see me when he was sarcastically clapping his hands at the referees.

“So I asked him his name, took a look at his ID and told him I will ask commissioner (Chito Narvasa) to talk to him and nothing more,” he added.

Lerit admitted that he indeed clapped and remarked, “well done, well done,” but claimed Narvasa pointed a finger at him and said, “luku-luko ka ha. Anong pangalan mo, anong pangalan mo? (Are you crazy? What’s your name, what’s your name?).”

“Then he took my ID, looked at it and slammed it on my chest,” Lerit said.

Lerit also said that Bernie Rances, Adamson’s director for student affairs, interceded on his behalf and also got the ire of Narvasa in the process.

Narvasa confirmed he was approached by Rances and told the latter not to touch him. He only stopped when Adamson coach Leo Austria came to pacify the parties involved.

“I just told him (Rances) not to touch me. And then coach Leo (Austria) came and told me ‘Akin na ito (This one’s for me),’” said Narvasa.       – Joey Villar
