Alumni golf ushers in RI grand reunion

The Rizal Institute High School in Canlubang, Laguna will hold a grand alumni homecoming on January 17, 2009 at the school’s quadrangle with a whole-day activity.

An 18-hole Alumni Cup golf tournament will be held at the Canlubang North course on January 16 as a prelude to the affair, kicking off a fund-raising program for scholarship grant to deserving children of RI alumni.

Organizers of the event led by RI Alumni Association president Ely Baradas of Class ‘56, said all batches – from 1952 to 2007 – have been invited to ensure a successful alumni reunion.

Baradas, recently named most outstanding president of Rotary Club District 3820 in Laguna, said the event will have a motorcade around town and a ballroom dancing in the evening as its highlights.

A huge turnout, with a large contingent of balikbayan-alumni from the United States and Europe, is expected for the occasion.
