Macaranas tops Oakley golf with eagle

-

Lex Macaranas carded a one-under-par 71 with one eagle to beat Korean Cho Han-Pyo by two strokes to win the overall title in the Oakley Golf Cup held at the Aoki course of the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in Trece Martirez, Cavite.

In Class A, Moon Ho Lee beat Lee Jong Min by countback after both shot net 68s. Edwin Abesamis edged out Virgilio Raymundo also by countback after the pair shot matching net 70s in Class B.

Raymond Lacdao took the crown in Class C by two strokes over Dom Menguito and Kwak Sugie took the honors in the Ladies’ Division.

“We are very happy with the success of our first Oakley Golf Cup. We promise a bigger and better edition next year,” said CEO Ramesh Dargani of Meera Enterprises Inc., exclusive Philippine distributor of Oakley.

Dargani said Oakley is positioning itself in the game of golf with the introduction of the golf lenses and sports frames suited to improve the golfers’ performance on the various golf course conditions.

“Golfers are very much concerned with skin protection more than anything else. However, they are forgetting to give defense to the eyes. This is what Oakley is promoting,” Dargani said.

Dargani also explained that enhanced golf vision could be achieved with Oakley’s High Definition Optics (HDO), which allows light to pass through 99.99 percent free of distortion for a clearer and accurate sight of the fairways and greens.

In addition, he said that golf shades’ new Hydrophobic Coatings prevents any oil buildup on the lens which gives balanced light transmission for depth perception and color recognition improvement and that the coating will also relieve the eyes of strain.
