UE standouts beef up Burger King

“We’re excited to be part of the PBL,” said Burger King president Butch Nazareno.
Burger King has also tapped the services of former PBA stars Jerry Codiñera and Vergel Meneses to help Gregorio on the bench.
“We are happy to have Jerry and Vergel in the team. I know they would inspire the players to play big every game,” said Gregorio.
Burger King actually missed the chance of enlisting reigning UAAP MVP Jervy Cruz, who ended up with Hapee after Mail and More failed to sign him up within the required period of time after the draft.
The five-peat seeking Harbour Centre and the Gabe Norwood-led Hapee Toothpaste are tipped to dominate the tournament this early although at least three teams – Burger King, Toyota Otis and San Mig Coffee – are out to spoil their bid. – Joey Villar
