FEU spikers fight for life in V-League

-

Rachel Daquis hopes to recover from an ankle injury as Far Eastern U goes all out for a playoff for fifth and last semifinal berth against fancied Ateneo today in the Shakey’s V-League Second Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Tams have lost their last three games after going 2-1, including a straight-set setback to a comebacking La Salle last Friday where Daquis, FEU’s top scorer, failed to suit up due to injury.

But the talented 20-year-old FEU stalwart is expected to come out strong and lead the Lady Tams’ chase for the all-important win in the penultimate playdate of the single round elims.

Gametime is at 3 p.m.

A victory will assure the Lady Tams of a shot at the last semis spot  with a 3-4 card, the same as that of the loser in the La Salle-Adamson match tomorrow.

The Lady Tams’ main concern is how to limit Ateneo’s explosive Thai import Lithawat Kesinee, the leading scorer in the league sponsored by Shakey’s Pizza and organized by Sports Vision.

San Sebastian, meantime, takes on first conference champion University of Santo Tomas in the 5 p.m. contest, eyeing a sixth straight victory in the tournament backed by Mikasa, Accel, 100Plus Isotonic Drink and Active White Skin whitening products.

The FEU-Ateneo matchup will be shown on NBN-4 tomorrow starting at 2 p.m. while the UST-San Sebastian showdown will be aired on Wednesday.
