The Welcoat Dragons reached an agreement with veteran forward Nic Belasco yesterday as the Welbest ballclub negotiated directly with the player upon his return from the United States.
The two parties closed a deal guaranteeing the player of P8.4 million in two years. Belasco then attended his first practice with the Dragons.
“It turned out that it’s so easy to deal with Nic. He’s a gentleman and professional,” said Welcoat co-owner Raymund Yu.
The team had thought of re-trading its Alaska acquisition as it couldn’t strike a deal with the player’s agent although already offered the maximum pay for two years.
