La Salle goes for win No. 3 and a share of the lead with University of the East as it tangles with Far Eastern U at resumption of action in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium today.
The Archers routed the UP Maroons, 82-61, and the Adamson Falcons, 99-75, to serve notice of their title bid following a one-year suspension.
But the Tams are unfazed of the Archers’ reputation and hot start, vowing to expose the Taft-based cagers’ weakness in their 4 p.m. encounter.
“We will try to look for that weakness as the game progresses. They’re beatable,” said FEU coach Glen Capacio after steering the Tams to an 81-66 victory over the UST Tigers over the weekend.
Capacio will pin his hopes on Alfred Gerilla, Marnel Baracael, Ric Cawaling and guards Mark Barroca and Marlon Adolfo against the Archers, expected to be led by TY Tang, JV Casio, Cholo Villanueva, Rico Maierhofer and center PJ Walsham.
Meanwhile, the defending champion Tigers try to break into the win column as they take on the Falcons in a duel of winless squads at 2 p.m.
