Live broadcast in nine Manila sites, Araneta

A Manila City Hall (MCH) official yesterday said that more than 20,000 people would benefit from the live telecast and free showing of the boxing match between the people’s champion Manny Pacquiao and Mexican Jorge Solis to be shown in nine venues on April 15.

Arsenio Lacson Jr., Manila Sports Council (Masco) officer-in-charge, said they have already listed nine locations for the free telecast.

They would be putting 12 feet x16 feet video wall in six areas namely Tondo Sports Council, Malikhaing Manileño (formerly Patricia Sports Complex), Delpan Sports Complex, Dapitan Sports Complex, Ninoy Aquino Stadium, and San Andres Sports Complex while giant LCD screens would be placed at the Dumagat Sports Complex in Balut, Tondo, Rasac Sports Complex in Sta. Cruz, and Rizal Memorial Stadium.

"By Saturday afternoon we are expecting all venues to be ready," Lacson said. Each of the six districts would at least have one venue to watch the fight, he added.

Meanwhile, pay-per-view live satellite coverage will also be held at the Araneta Center Cinemas starting at 8 a.m. The telecast will be held at Ali Mall cinemas and Gateway Cineplex 10. For reservations call TicketNet at 911-5555 or log at www.gatewaycineplex10.com.
