St. Benilde’s Henry Atayde, who chairs both the committees recently tasked to investigate the case, said the personnel he sent to Cebu, Bukidnon and Pangasinan had evidence that could pin those responsible for the alleged infraction the body is looking into.
"They’re already here with the papers and documents we wanted," Atayde yesterday told The STAR.
He added he is set to meet with PCU board representative Alfredo Olano to present the documents.
"We’re working with PCU to clear things out and they’re cooperating," said Atayde. "What we want is for PCU to clean its house and give it the breathing room to act on this case."
The group is currently comparing the records it found in the provinces to the ones they have at PCU.
They are also asking Studio 23, a UHL channel of television giant ABS-CBN that aired both seniors and juniors basketball games in Season 82, to provide them videos to be used in the conduct of the inquiry.
They will later inform the Management Committee and Policy Board, which is set to hold a planning session March 27-29 in Binangonan, Rizal, for deliberation.
Five players have been mentioned for their involvement but Atayde said they only need one to prove that the "identity switching" happened.
Atayde, meanwhile, cleared 2006 rookie MVP Elvin Pascual and Ralph Lansang of any involvement in the case.
