H Centre beefs up for Champs Cup

Harbour Centre is reinforcing its team with stars from other PBL clubs as BAP-Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas treats the SEABA Champions Cup next month as preparation for the SEA Games in December.

Coach Junel Baculi is to invite Marvin Cruz and Patrick Cabahug of Toyota Balintawak, JR Quinahan of Mail and More and Doug Kramer of Cebuana Lhuillier to join the Batang Pier in a tryout starting tomorrow.

Louie Alas and Caloy Garcia were named Baculi’s assistants.

Baculi is looking to finalize his lineup by Monday then start its buildup for the event slated April 9-14 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

"We’re not going there just to play. We’ll size up the opposition and use the tourney as part of our preparation for the SEA Games," said PBL commissioner Chino Trinidad. –Nelson Beltran
