Pacman rushed to hospital for stomach pains

-
Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao was rushed to the Cardinal Santos Memorial Hospital yesterday after complaining of stomach problems.

Pacquiao, 28, has been confined on and off at the hospital because of a recurring stomach ailment, according to Philboxing.com.

In an interview with ABS-CBN late in the night, the Gen. Santos native admitted to have periodically skipped meals due to the pressure of his work.

"Naaabuso ko kasi ang katawan ko sa trabaho ko, at sa sobrang pagod, minsan nakakalimutan ko ng kumain
(I was kind of abusing my body, skipping meals because of pressure of work)," said Pacquiao.

He later had an executive checkup and sources in the Pacquiao camp said initial tests showed that everything’s fine with the Filipino fighter, including his heart, kidneys, pancreas, liver. He is scheduled to have a blood chemistry test today.

Meanwhile, the planned San Miguel Beer commercial featuring Pacquiao, Mexican legend Erik Morales and trainer Freddie Roach is on. Roach is reportedly arriving tomorrow to be part of what is billed to be a blockbuster commercial.

Earlier reports said that ad shoot has been shelved after some San Miguel Corp. executives were upset over the fact that the plan to shoot a commercial had leaked out.

Morales and his wife planed in a couple of nights ago and checked in at the Diamond Hotel along Roxas Boulevard. They are scheduled to visit one of the most exclusive international resorts in the south for a couple of days.

Pacquiao and Morales met past midnight Saturday and shared a "few rounds" of San Miguel Pale Pilsen, whom the three will endorse in a commercial.

Morales was seen at Rockwell in Makati City yesterday. Pacquiao planed in from Davao City where he stood as one of the godfathers at a christening of the child of a friend after attending a derby at the Makati. — Abac Cordero
