M. Lhuillier ballclub holds grand reunion

All players who suited up for the multi-titled M. Lhuillier ballclub will hold a grand reunion to commemorate the club’s 20th anniversary.

Spearheaded by M. Lhuillier’s bench tactician and Cebu City Councilor Raul "Yayoy" Alcoseba, the affair, set Jan. 20 at Yayoy’s Grill and Resto Bar on Orchid Street in Brgy. Capitol Site, this city, is the first gathering of M. Lhuillier players in 20 years.

"The players hold the best memories of what it was to play with M. Lhuillier that in one way or another helped them to be what they are today," said Alcoseba. "This is the foremost reason I’ve decided to hold this reunion of M. Lhuillier players for the first time since the team was formed in 1986."

Alcoseba is calling all those who have donned the M. Lhuillier jersey "to take part in this memorable affair to relive their most treasured moments in the commercial league."

Most of the cage stars who once showed their stuff under the aegis of M. Lhuillier of businessman-sportsman Michel J. Lhuillier shot to fame in the professional league, some eventually becoming respected coaches today.

Among the promiment hoopsters are Elmer "Boy" Cabahug, Al Solis, Jay Ramirez, Jojo Lastimosa, Samboy Lim, Dondon Ampalayo, Harmon Codiñera, Peter Aguilar, Jun Tan, Art de la Cruz, Ato Navarro, Anthony Mendoza and Peter Jao.
