Shooters capture three golds in Singapore Open

The Philippine national shooting team stamped its class over an equally talented field, bagging three gold medals and three silvers in the Singapore Open Championships at the Singapore National Shooting Center in Singapore last week.
Gerard Velez ruled the overall pump-action category in the individual competition, the RP Team A of Herman delos Santos, Eduardo Yao and Ariel Santos dominated the semi-automatic category, while the Team B of Jackson Yuquimpo, Gerardo Manabat and Velez reigned supreme in the pump-action event.
Winning the silver medals were Ariel Santos (semi-automatic), RP Team A (pump-action), and the team of Capt. Noel Tiu, Lt. Sgt. Marly Llorito, SSg. John Costales and Luis Lee (open-pistol team category).
Four RP bets also won bronze medals, including Manabat (pump-action), Yao (semi-automatic), SW2 Elvie Baldovino (ladies open) and Team B (semi-automatic).
The victorious RP squad arrived yesterday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Centennial Terminal via Philippine Airlines Flight PR 502.
The RP team was accompanied by Philippine National Shooting Association (PNSA) chairman Ildefonso Tronqued Jr. and vice-chairman and head of delegation Romeo Rivera together with pistol coach Col. Jonathan Martir. Rainier Allan Ronda
