Cabagnot fined for stint in US

PBA commissioner Noli Eala yesterday fined Sta. Lucias Alex Cabagnot following verified reports that the Realtor guard played for the LA Stars in the US Summer League recently.
Reports that Cabagnot was playing in the US reached the PBA because the Talk N Text Phone Pals played against Cabagnot and his team in the US Summer League.
His offense cost him P10,000 for every game he played outside PBA-sanctioned tournament. Reports reaching Eala indicated that Cabagnot played in at least two games with the LA Stars in the US Summer League.
In his letter to Cabagnot, the league commissioner also reminded the sophomore guard that under PBA rules and the PBA Players Uniform Contract PBA players are prohibited from playing in any basketball game other than PBA-sanctioned games.
