NBA Madness hits the road anew

NBA Madness, the premier hoop fest that brings the authentic NBA experience to Manila and now titled "Watch, Play, Jam!", goes on the road with a series of mall tours until July 20.

In partnership with Robinsons Malls, the NBA action waxed hot in Robinson’s Starmills, swings over to Robinson’s Galleria in Ortigas June 23-25, Robinson’s Place Manila July 7-9 and to the Araneta Coliseum Parking Lot and Concourse July 20-22.

The NBA 3-on-3, NBA Shooting Stars, a competitive celebrity shootout under time pressure, slam dunk contests and the Free Throw Conga Line are the fun-and-skills activities that await participants in the NBA Madness Mall tour. An NBA theater where basketball addicts can catch exciting NBA action and life-size NBA player standees (where fans can compare their height and wingspan to those of NBA players and pose with them for souvenir shots) are some other treats to enjoy at this year’s Madness.

The Madness started this year with "Watch", a Viewing Party of Game 2 of the just-concluded NBA finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat at Robinson’s Movieworld, Galleria on June 12. The Mall Tours are the "Play" of this year’s event, while "Jam" is the upcoming NBA Madness Celebrity Jam!

The climax event features a unique combination of sports, music and entertainment celebrations July 22. It will be highlighted by the arrival of two NBA impact players, Andre Igoudala of the Phoenix Suns and Channing Frye of the New York Knicks, as well as the talented high-stepping San Antonio Spurs Silver Dancers.

This year’s Madness is being co-presented by Coca-Cola and Solar Sports and sponsored by Snickers, Spalding, Magic 89.9, K-Lite 103.5, Manila Bulletin, Fudge Magazine, Crowne Plaza Hotel and Galleria Manila.

NBA Madness Celebrity Jam will benefit local charities such as the Council for the Welfare of Children’s Bright Child Program and the Philippine Special Olympics under NBA Cares, the NBA’s global community outreach program.
