The Tams, priming up for the UAAP cage wars where they are the defending back-to-back champions, outclassed the Red Lions, 93-80, in the single round elims last week then went on to beat National U and Philippine Christian U to complete a sweep of the elims among four teams.
But the Mendiola-based cagers, who ripped the Bulldogs, 69-55, last Saturday to gain the right to face the FEU squad for the crown, are expected to go flat out to spoil the Tams bid in the tournament held under the auspices of the POC as part of the worldwide celebration of the Olympic movement.
Gametime is at 3:30 p.m.
The Dolphins and the Bulldogs duel for bronze medal at 2 p.m.
FEU is fancied to pin its hopes on Jeffrie Chan, Jonas Villanueva and Alfredo Gerilla with support to come from Marnel Baracael, Francis Barcellano and Benedict Fernandez.
San Beda, on the other hand, will lean on Nigerian Samuel Ekwe, Rogemar Menor, Borgie Hermida, John Escobal and Micah Evangelista as it tries to spring a surprise over the fancied FEU side in the event backed by Globe, Fontana Leisure Park, Petron, AMA Computer Univ. and Creativity Lounge.
