A reliable source has broken the news that two of the four commissioners are on the way out, and that President Arroyo has already signed the appointment papers of a new one.
The source said Eric Loretiza, a member of the 2005 Southeast Asian Games organizing committee in Bacolod, would soon occupy a commissioners seat at the PSC.
During a Vice Mayors League of the Philippines meeting in Bacolod last April, President Arroyo reportedly said "a new PSC commissioner will come from here."
The President, the source added, has yet to find a replacement for the other commissioner whos on the way out.
The PSC is under chairman William Ramirez who was appointed by the President last year. With him are four commissioners Richie Garcia, Joey Mundo, Leon Montemayor and Ambrocio de Luna.
Montemayor and de Luna are holdovers of the past PSC administration under Eric Buhain.
Ramirez also served as commissioner under the former swimming champion, but has earned his place as chairman. Garcia was also a commissioner under then PSC chairman Butch Tuason and was re-appointed to the government sports agency last year.
Ramirez refused to comment although he said he met with President Arroyo earlier this week, and that they talked of a different topic.
"Thats the way it goes here in the PSC where you dont have a fixed term. Even if youre doing a good job, you can be replaced here. We all serve the President on a day-to-day basis," he said.
