Manny Pacquiao Promotions Inc. (MPPI), promoters of the coming Manny Pacquiao versus Oscar Larios showdown, through its media partners, ABS-CBN, yesterday unveiled the master plan on how MPPI will release the P2.5 million "gifts" of general admission tickets as promised earlier by the Filipino ring icon.
Pacquiao is set to fight Larios for the WBC Super-featherweight crown on Sunday, July 2 at the Araneta Coliseum and had earlier said he wanted to donate the boxing tickets as a symbolic offering to his countrymen on his historic fight in the Philippines.
Officials of MPPI and ABS-CBN eventually decided that for ticket control, stubs can be obtained through texting on TV programs of Channel 2 and in provincial RNG and Manila radio programs from June 5 -25.
For television viewers, texters have to wait for the Mano-A-Mano logo to appear in selected shows daily and text right away the name of the program and date when they see it.
For radio listeners, they have to wait for the bell stinger and answer the announcers question right away by text.
Each text message costs P2.50 and is open to Smart, Talk N Text and Addict Mobile.
Winners are to be notified by representatives of ABS-CBN Interactive Office.
Adding to the excitement of the card is the appearance of Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista, who battles Alejandro Felix Montiel in one of three 10-rounders featuring two other Mexicans like Larios.
