Torion revives career, signs up with Realtors

Cebuano pointguard Jimwell Torion, who drifted to a minor league in the south after being waived by Red Bull after the Fiesta Cup, is back in the PBA, joining the Sta. Lucia Realtors.
Torion signed a contract with Sta. Lucia yesterday and is set to play his first game with the Realtors tomorrow in a road game in Cabagan, Isabela versus the Air21 Express.
Losing his spot at Red Bull following the arrival of Rich Alvarez and the reactivation of EJ Feihl, Torion played with the Toledo squad of coach Jun Tan in the Mindanao Visayas Basketball Association in Cebu.
The 5-foot-9 Salazar Tech product, 31, stood out in his two games in the fledgling league.
"Its good that he didnt sign a contract in the MVBA. Otherwise, he wont get this chance to return to the PBA right away," said Danny Espiritu, Torions agent.
Sta. Lucia signed up Torion to boost its backcourt and hopefully pump life into its sagging campaign in this All-Filipino tourney.
The team is in the tail end of the standings with only one win in five starts. Air21 is slightly ahead with a 2-4 win-loss record as the two teams clash at the Josefina Albano Sports Center in Cabagan, Isabela at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Red Bull and Purefoods, the title protagonists in the recent Fiesta Cup, renew their rivalry as they slug it out at 7:35 p.m. tonight in the Gran Matador Brandy Philippine Cup at the Astrodome.
Coca-Cola tries to hold on to the solo lead as it battles Barangay Ginebra in the days other game at 4:40 p.m.
