Sta. Elena Cup offers P6 million in prizes

The 10th edition of the Sta. Elena Cup member-guest invitational will be staged by the multi-awarded Sta. Elena Golf Club from March 30-April 2 with prizes worth more than P6 million up for grabs.
A BMW 3-Series, a Toyota Camry and a Mazda 3 plus a golf carts from Yamaha with a combined value of almost P4 million will be staked as hole-in-one prizes on designated holes.
This will be aside from an exciting raffle package topped by Omega watches, an Alaskan cruise for two inclusive of airfare and numerous appliances and equipment and the cash raffle which gives P500,000 and P300,000 payouts to two lucky winners.
The exclusive list of sponsors includes Omega, Mizuno, Royal Caribbean, The Golf Shop of Baron Travel, Sta. Elena Properties, Pepsi, Aviva and Intellicare. Hole-in-one sponsors are Toyota Motor Philippines, Inc., Prestige Cars Pasong Tamo, Mazda Greenhills, Kart Plaza Manufacturing and Club Car.
Organizers said yesterday the tournament was booked in record time with the 226 two-player team slots filled up in less than two days. Tee-offs will either be on Thursday-Saturday or Friday-Sunday.
Practice rounds starting tomorrow will allow guests to familiarize themselves with the topnotch conditions of the course consistently judged as the best in the country and among Asias finest with their members/hosts.
Venzon Paz and Bobby Iñigo are the defending net champions while Kevin Tayao and Raymund Sangil are returning to shoot for a repeat of their low gross victory last year. The individual low gross winner, Juvic Pagunsan, had turned pro at the start of the year.
One of the Omega watches and some other merchandise items will be raffled off during the pre-tourney cocktails March 28 .
The awarding ceremony on April 2 promises to be another night of fun, good food and entertainment with the popular band Silk set to perform.
