Mars Pucay shot a final day two-over par 74 and then wore down Robert Pactolerin in a thrilling eight-hole playoff yesterday with a birdie to win the third Omega Cup at Wack Wack East.
Pucay banged in a 15-foot putt off the fringe of the eighth playoff hole, the par-4 No. 9, to nip Pactolerin, who closed out with a 75 to enable Pucay to force a sudden death with identical 296s.
"Im happy because I cant remember the last time I won a tournament," said Pucay, who snatched the top P100,000 purse and a brand-new watch.
Carito Villaroman, who shared the third round lead with Pactolerin, fumbled with a 76 and finished tied for third with Anthony Balan (75), Benjie Magada (74) and Randy Garalde (75), who all had 299s. Joey Villar
