The Philippine team dished out another overpowering performance on both sides of the field, trouncing Myanmar, 17-0, in an abbreviated five-inning contest in the SEA Games baseball competition at the Rizal Ballpark yesterday.
Roel Batuto and Darwin Dela Calsada combined for a perfect no-hit, no-run job and the Filipino batters slammed 17 hits and the same number of runs in pulling off a third victory in as many outings in the tourney where they are fancied to emerge champions via a six-game sweep.
It was a third win following a 38-0 demolition of Malaysia and an 11-5 repulsing of Indonesia, and the Filipino clouters dedicated it to sports project director Allan Caidic whose mother passed away Tuesday. Jose Bimbo Santos
