RP boxers hurdle first round bouts

BACOLOD CITY The Philippine boxers got the spotlight in the opening boxing games at the University of St. La Salle Coliseum here after they pounced on opponents in both female and male divisions.
Female pin Alice Kate Aparri and fly Annie Albania outclassed Lo Thuy Nam of Vietnam and Juthatip Chusang of Thailand after an RSC in the second round.
In the male pinweight division, Talisay fighter Juanito Magliquian impressed the hometown crowd after he defeated Cambodian Jen Dyaman by knockout in the first round.
Fly Warlito Parenas, also of Negros Occidental finished off Laotian Nhothin Holapatiphone by an RSC in the third round.
Other winners in the opening boxing bouts were pinweight Keanus Pangpayoon of Thailand over Malaysian Mohn Nazri Bin Yusof; Laotian Sikham Yongphakoune over Indonesian Alberto Alfons and Myanmars Zaw Myo Min over Vietnamese pugilist Nguyen Viey Dhi.
