Pals go up vs. Barakos
November 18, 2005 | 12:00am
If Talk n Texts strong comebacks from previous losses would be any indication, then the Phone Pals may come out bristling again tonight against the Red Bull Barakos in the San Mig Coffee PBA Fiesta Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Stunned by the Sta. Lucia Realtors the last time out, the Phone Pals are likely to strive hard to bounce back and stay among the top contenders for an outright entry into the semifinals.
After their previous losses to the Barangay Ginebra Kings and the Air21 Express, the Phone Pals came out smoking and ripped the Purefoods Hotdogs then the Alaska Milk Aces.
They even went bald after the loss to the Express and made a bold move in their return on the playing court, routing the Aces last Nov. 6.
With the loss to Sta. Lucia Saturday in a road game in Zamboanga City, Talk n Text slid to third place with a 6-3 win-loss card behind the pacesetting Purefoods Chunkee (8-3) and second running Barangay Ginebra (7-4).
The nine ball clubs are fighting it out for the top two places which stake outright seats in the semifinals of the Xtreme Magic Sing-backed tourney.
Red Bull sets out for the 4:40 p.m. game tied at fourth place with Alaska and Air21 with identical 5-5 win-loss cards.
Sta. Lucia seeks a third straight win as the Realtors take on the slumping San Miguel Beermen in the other game at 7:25 p.m.
The Realtors are at seventh place with a 4-6 record while the Beermen are languishing in the cellar with an awful 1-7 slate.
