Australia, ANZA Cups today at Sta. Ana

-
Aussie-breds take center stage today at the Santa Ana Park as Philippine Racing Club, Inc. (PRCI) hosts two featured track encounters for a select field of runners bred, raised and imported from the land Down Under.

Australia’s leading thoroughbred bloodstock company, William Inglis & Son renews its partnership with the local horse racing industry, one of its fastest growing markets in Southeast Asia, as it sponsors the P400,000 William Inglis Australia Cup exclusive for Aussie-bred campaigners.

Nine up-and-coming imports comprise the field of challengers for the William Inglis Australia Cup led by stable mates’ Suppressed (Xaar-Stifled) and Ring Tone (Honour & Glory-Anapalau) from the dominant Hermie Esguerra Racing Stable.

Meanwhile, perennial track rivals West Bound (Hezagonewest-Fair Maiden) and Sound Offer (Thunder Gulch-Fine Offer), runner-up to Being There in last Sunday’s Chino Roces Freedom Cup, battle it out for supremacy in the companion ANZA Cup, fourth leg of the Santa Ana Park Challenge Run. — Ramon Romualdez
