PSC to transfer NSA offices to Philsports

Once the plan is approved, all national sports associations will have to vacate their offices at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex for new ones inside the Philsports Complex in Pasig City.
The Philippine Sports Commission under chairman William "Butch" Ramirez is close to finalizing discussions within the board regarding the transfer that may start next month.
Guillermo Iroy, PSC executive director, said majority of the 41 NSAs hold office at the RMSC, particularly the four-storey PSC administrative building fronting Vito Cruz.
The NSAs are housed in the first two floors while the PSC offices, from financing, personnel, operation, legal and travel departments plus the respective offices of the five board members, including the four commissioners, and their respective staff eat up the top floors.
"Pero masyado nang masikip para sa kanila ang PSC building," said Iroy, adding that the NSAs will be formally informed of the transfer once the plan is approved.
With the impending transfer, the PSC might find no need to padlock the Basketball Association of the Philippines office on the second floor. The BAP was recently expelled by the Philippine Olympic Committee and has lost all its privileges as a regular member.
Iroy, however, said the PSC is all set to padlock the Basketball Referees Commission (Barecom) office and the BAP stockroom beside the basketball coliseum.
"Maybe theres no more need to padlock the BAP office kung lilipat na ang NSAs next month sa Philsports," said Iroy.
Without saying it, the BAP will have no place at Philsports. An office for the basketball association, however, will be available for whoever is recognized soon by the POC and the PSC.
The PSC building, Iroy added, will be a purely administrative building of the government sports agency that was created in 1990.
"As it is, the PSC building will be just enough for the PSC and its different departments. Masyado na masikip ang offices at tambak na ang files and records," added Iroy. Abac Cordero
