Seigles among 34 free agents in post season

Brothers Danny and Andy Seigle were among 34 players who became free agents in the Philippine Basketball Association Saturday.

Jerry Codiñera and two others had their contracts expired earlier last June 30, and 33 other players will have their own pacts lapsing between July 31 and Dec. 31.

Thus, the front offices of the 10 ball clubs are likely to hum with several wheeling and dealings this PBA break.

Ryan Bernardo sees the end of his deal with Red Bull on Oct. 31. At the end of the year, several key players need to re-negotiate and these include Alaska’s Mike Cortez and Brandon Cablay, Purefoods’ Noy Castillo, San Miguel’s Olsen Racela, Sta. At Shell, only Rich Alvarez, Tony dela Cruz and Ervin Sotto will remain with live contracts after Dec. 31. The Turbochargers have been told to wait for notice while the team’s London-based mother company is still evaluating the viability of maintaining its PBA franchise.
