May 3, 2005 | 12:00am
Welcoat clashes with Magnolia in a duel of last years finalists with the Paintmasters eyeing a victory and a share of the lead with idle Montana and the Wizards trying to gain on the leaders in the PBL Unity Cup at the Pasig Sports Center today.
A vic-tory by the Paint Masters in their 4 p.m. tussle with the defending champions will give them a 6-1 (win-loss) mark, the same record by Montana which saw its six-game streak snap by Granny Goose via a 71-67 win last Saturday.
Clashing in the first game at 2 p.m. are Toyota Otis-Letran and Negros Navigation-San Beda with the Red Lions hoping to finally barge into the win-column after dropping their first six games in the tournament.
Both the Knights and Red Lions are among the favorites in the coming NCAA wars, thus making todays showdown doubly interesting.
The Knights played with renewed confidence and came up with an 85-79 win over the Snackmasters last Thursday.
