A crack selection of young lady cagers will make up the Philippine youth womens basketball team that will leave today via Philippine Airlines and see action in the 17th Asian Basketball Confederation (ABC) Championship for Junior Women (Under-18) slated Oct. 15-21 in Shenzhen, China.
Culled from various schools participating in two major womens cage leagues, the national youth team was built by head coach Estrellita Enriquez with premium emphasis on shooting and fastbreak plays.

Leading the RP team are Assumption Colleges Elena Beatriz Legarda Santos, daughter of popular lawyer Kathrina Legarda, Ma. Caterina del Lopa, Angelica Marie Jose Enriquez and 5-11 center Matchiko Matsuno from Holy Spirit College.
From De La Salle-Manila are Kristine Alon-alon, Hannah Candano and Angeli Gloriani; Anna Marika Iida, Fria Bernardo and Ma. Annabel Sibug (Torres), Siella Millona (Trinity ) and Bernadette Mercado (Far Eastern ). Former POC chair Cristy Ramos is head of delegation. Assistant coaches are Shellalyn Gabagat and Raymond Celis and team consultant coach Horacio Lim.
