-
Defending champion Lyceum of the Philippines is on its way to claiming the top spot and a twice-to-beat edge in the crossover semifinals when it dumped erstwhile unbeaten University of the Assumption-Pampanga, 25-12, 25-9, 27-26, yesterday in the WNCAA 35th season seniors volleyball at the RTU gym.

Lyceum now holds a 7-0 card and will play its final three games against host school San Beda College Alabang (0-9), Miriam College (3-5) and Rizal Technological University (8-1).

UA-P ended the eliminations with a 9-1 slate.

RTU likewise won yesterday, 25-9, 25-7, 25-16, over Centro Escolar University.

College of St. Benilde, most likely to take the fourth and last semis slot, finished the elims with a 6-4 card as it stopped St. Scholastica’s College, 25-22, 25-27, 25-23, 25-20.

Emilio Aguinaldo College prevailed over Miriam, 22-25, 25-18, 26-25, 18-15, in the other seniors match.

The WNCAA 35th season is co-presented by Kotex and sponsored by adidas, The Philippine STAR, RPN 9, Monster Radio RX 93.1, Pantene and Café Lupe, in cooperation with Cadbury, Goldilocks, Powerade, Molten, Mikasa and Rustan’s Essenses.
