Agojo, Tabuena score two more victories in US

Team Philippines scored two more victories in the United States through Jayvie Agojo and Miguel Tabuena in tournaments played in San Francisco and San Diego recently as they continued their serious buildup for the coming Callaway World Juniors.

Agojo buckled down to work after planing in last week, topping the J.A.G.S Marty LaRoche Junior Challenge with plenty to spare in San Francisco.

The 17-year-old playing out her final season as a jungolfer scored rounds of 73-68, finishing nine strokes ahead of Rachel Morris (78-72) and Lizette Salas (78-74).

Fresh from topping the Marvin K. Brown championships, Tabuena took his second win in as many weeks by topping the 9-10 years division of the Cris Riley Championship 2004 in Oceanside, California.

Agojo and Tabuena are the frontliners of the 28-player Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines contingent sponsored by Philippine Airlines, Samsung, Smart Kid and Manila Southwoods playing in several events in the US topped by the Callaway Junior World.

Last week, AR Ramos drew first blood by taking the 6-7 years category of the Pepsi Little People in Quincy, Illinois.

In Jakarta, Indonesia Marcel Puyat was running second after an 83 in the Indonesian championship.
