Adidas bets headline Ayala Center bash

Adidas Philippines, Inc., in cooperation with Swatch and Gift Gate, will hold a five-day exhibit celebrating the Olympics and Sports Time at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City beginning tomorrow.

Cage stars from the pro and collegiate leagues and other sports personalities lead the guests who will grace the event starting at 6 p.m., including Ren-Ren Ritualo, Rey Evangelista, Doug Kramer and Christian Luanzon, and world class bowlers CJ Suarez and Irene Benitez.

Pop princess Cris Villonco will lead the singing of the National Anthem followed by the parade of teams led by adidas athletes and tennis champions Irwin de Guzman, Kyle Dandan, Ayo Canlas and Jessica Agra with the WNCAA athletes.

One of the event highlights is the torch relay to be led by Swatch lady and Asian Games gold medalist Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski and trackster Eduardo Buenavista, who is set to compete in the 2004 Athens Olympics.

The games will be formally opened by Congressman Teddy Boy Locsin.

Sports Time at the Ayala Center is open to the public. Students may show their IDs to gain entrance while shoppers may join the games in the different sports booths by showing the Time for Sports card.

Every purchase of P1,000 worth of adidas products from any of the adidas, Gift Gate and Swatch shops inside the Ayala Center will entitle the shopper to a Time for Sports Card. The card will allow the customer to participate in any of the three promos: (1) exchanging their Time for Sports Card for an instant prize, (2) joining the grand raffle on August 30, or (3) using the cards for the auction of limited adidas and Swatch products to be done on August 29, at the lobby of the Greenbelt 3.

The Time for Sports card will have no cash value but will give the holder the opportunity to avail of any of the three promos. The instant prizes include adidas deo-cologne, Timezone passes, Tokyo Tokyo Iced Tea, adidas posters, Ayala Center parking tickets, and Glorietta 1 movie passes that can be claimed at redemption booths around the Ayala Center. The grand raffle will include Ayala electronic gift certificates, adidas gift certificates and Swatch watches and will be drawn on Aug. 30.
