NC 80th season unfolds June 26

The 80th season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tournament comes off the wraps on June 26 at the Araneta Coliseum.
Basketball will kick off the season of the NCAA sports calendar with a four- game bill featuring the senior squads of all eight schools after an hour-long opening ceremony starting at 12 noon. This years theme will be "Mighty at 80."
University of Perpetual Help Dalta System-Altas battles the Jose Rizal University-Heavy Bombers in the opening game at 1 p.m. while San Sebastian-Stags tackles San Beda Red Lions in the second game. Mapua meets College of St. Benilde in the third game. Defending champion Letran-Knights will clash against PCU-Dolphins in the last game.
The NCAA policy board is made up of Dr. Daisy Tamayo, president; Fr. Edwin Lao, OP, vice president; Ronald Holmes, treasurer; Dr. Vincent Fabella, member; Dr. Reynaldo Vea, member; Dr. Oscar Suarez, member; Fr. Anscar Chupungco, OSB, member, and Fr. Hernan Omecillo, OAR, member.
