Tee-off will be shotgun style at 8 a.m.
Competing teams will be vying for the overall title and the top awards in three divisions playing alternate shots for six holes, scramble for the next six holes and finally, aggregate for the last six.
With such a unique format, it will be a tough test of teamwork and consistency for the full field of 144 member-guest teams in the event given major backing by Globe Platinum through Archie Monzon and Nonie Busuego.
Aside from the signature golf bags to be given as giveaways, participants will also get the chance to win raffle prizes in the awarding ceremonies.
The tourney is also sponsored by Splash Island, KZG by Custom Clubmakers, Information Professionals, Inc., Asia-Pacific Golf Co., Kork, Inc. Timberpro, Golforce, Inc., Club Leisure Management, Corp., Industrial Waste Systems, Inc., Coppertone, Roche Phils. and Wilson.
Leading the field are Sherwood Hills chairman of the board Bob Sobrepeña, sports and games committee chair Freddie Mendoza, architect Ruben Payumo, Paco Gonzales, Jimmy Borromeo, among others.
"The Sherwood Hills Invitational has become a very unique event with its format and it spells nothing but fun for everyone," said Sobrepeña.
The pair of Larry Tojino and JP Reyes who won last years invitational will not be back to defend the crown due to separate commitments.
Coinciding with the awards rites in the evening which will carry a Hawaiian Luau theme is the handling out of trophies to the club champions.
To be honored are Japanese expatriate Fujio Goto in Class A, Dr. Ed Abesamis in Division I, Melvin Lagasca in Division II, Naning Zamora in seniors play and Marilyn Ty in the ladies division.
