BAGUIO Tanduay yesterday bared its other sports projects for the remainder of the year as it celebrates its 150th Anniversary with the theme "Celebrating the Filipino Spirit."
Huge projects in sports close to the heart of Dr. Lucio Tan, among them basketball, horseracing, billiards and boxing, are being lined up to give the Filipino athlete the chance to shine.
"Dr. Tan is willing to help the Filipino athlete in his own little way," said Larry Li, delegation head of Team Tanduay in the Tour Pilipinas. "Our aim is to help sports in the early levels and produce the countrys future champions."
Tanduay has already agreed to sponsor the "Upcoming Stars" billiards tournament set to open in a few weeks. The giant liquor company is also backing some amateur boxers who will see action in the Philippine Professional Boxing League (PPBL).
Meanwhile, the Rhum Riders tenaciously held on to sixth spot in the team competition of the Air21 Tour Pilipinas after the "killer" 15th stage that started and ended here yesterday.
