Shell-Manila juniors overpower Red Bull

Shell-Manila capitalized on the team’s balanced scoring to beat Red Bull-Pasay, 62-53, yesterday in the Burlington-PBA Jr. Basketball Summer League at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Jr. TurboChargers opened up an 11-point lead after one quarter behind Karl Earvin Villaflor, Danel Sison and Kevin Louie Alas and controlled the tempo the rest of the way.
Manila underscored its dominance in the third quarter when it fielded only four players but hardly missed a bit.
Ralph Kevin Mendoza tallied 15 points to lead the Jr. Turbo Chargers, who tied idle Talk N Text-Quezon City Jr. Phone Pals for the lead in Group B with a 1-1 mark.
Kevin Cruz scored 12 points and Julius Garcia and Michael Baustista added 11 a piece for the Jr. Barakos.
