The activity centers feature touring displays such as hand and shoe prints, photo gallery, inflatable basketball hoop, PBA snap shots, Molten basketball museum and a half-court area.
To top it all, a PBA-Tobys merchandise booth is put up where PBA products such as shoes, caps, jerseys, shirts, stickers, toys, puzzles plus other souvenir items are being sold at very affordable prices.
The PBA, in its effort to bring the league closer to the people, launched the event three weeks ago at the SM Megamall to give the fans, particularly the kids and the youth, something to look forward to this summer season. It has so far generated so much interest with hordes of fans coming over and mingling with their favorite players from various PBA ballclubs.
The summer bash, organized by the PBA Properties, Inc. and presented by JVC and Globe Telecom and sponsored by Tobys Sports, Purefoods, Accel, Air 21, Molten and Mail & More, takes a Lenten break from April 5-11. It will resume on April 12 with SM Sucat hosting the next stop.
The PBA interactive centers are set up on two designated SM malls each week till May 9 to be spiced up by a rotation of visits by the PBA cagers and teams.
Meanwhile, the PBA and the popular chain of SM malls have launched a search for the top five PBA superstars whom the fans themselves will choose. Under the scheme, every P100 purchase at any of the SM departments foodcourt, skating rink, bowling, department store and supermarket will entitle a customer to one ballot where he/she could vote for the player of his/her choice. Winners will be known at the end of the PBA summer tour on May 9.
