Aguilar tunes up for Asian masters moto

-
With the Motocross Masters of Asia in mind, Revtex Rocket Glenn Aguilar smashed the opposition the way an FIM Asian champion should in the third leg of the Philippine National Motocross Championships at Brooke’s Point in Palawan Sunday.

The 27-year-old Revtex team captain dominated both the pro open and 125 categories in awesome fashion to stay sharp going into the second leg of the FIM Asian Supercross Championship, to be held in Puerto Princesa on March 28.

"Naka
-focus ako sa Motocross Masters of Asia. Kinondisyon ko na ‘yung sarili ko na this (PNMC) is already the second leg of the FIM series," said the seven-time National Rider of the Year. "And it worked."

In the Pro 125, Aguilar trailed only after the first lap. He overtook his rivals in the second for a huge 15-second victory over eventual second placer Popeye Rubi. Jovie Saulog emerged third while Revtex bet Jerry Beech placed fourth.

Aguilar was even more dominant in the premier pro open, where he stole the lead from Rubi even before the first lap ended, and led all the way for another smashing triumph before 30,000 Palaweños.

While not crushing his rivals, Aguilar also provided the inspiration to five other Caltex victories that once again proved Revtex’s status as the country’s best motocross team in this event sanctioned by the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association.

Other Revtex winners in the third leg were Alvin Beech in the expert class, Joey Barnedo in the Beginner’s Class and Wonder Boy Kenneth San Andres in the Novice Open and 125 categories. Even Revtex’s youth riders joined in the domination, with Jensen Manuel and Jerrick Mitra finishing 1-2 in the Junior category.
