PRISAA throws support to BAP

The Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA), which boasts of a membership of 1,330 private schools nationwide, yesterday threw its full support behind the leadership of the Basketball Association of the Philippines.

In a breakfast meeting held yesterday at the Manila Peninsula Hotel, PRISAA national chairman Emmanuel Angeles told BAP secretary-general Graham Lim and BAP National Men’s Commission chairman Arturo Valenzona that his association recognizes the BAP’s status as a member of the international sporting community, specifically the FIBA.

Angeles, who is also the president and CEO of the Clark Development Corp., has committed PRISAA’s member-schools to participate in the National Juniors Basketball Championship to be held in Palawan in October.

"The PRISAA, under my leadership, fully supports BAP and its programs for amateur basketball. And we intend to be actively involved in some of its program, particularly the national juniors championship," said Angeles. "We’re a very quiet group but in terms of scope and membership, we’re one of the biggest in the country."

Lim, on the other hand, expressed his gratitude on Angeles’ show of support.
