PSA induction slated

Philippine Olympic Committee President Cito Dayrit will induct the new set of officers of the Philippine Sportswriters Association on Friday, at 8 p.m. at the Manila Pavilion.

To be inducted are Jimmy Cantor (Malaya), president; Ding Marcelo (Manila Bulletin), first vice president; Edwin Cabutina (Today), second vice president; Aldrin Cardona (Daily Tribune), secretary; Joe S. Antonio (People’s Journal), treasurer; Teddyvic Melendres (Inquirer), auditor and the members of the board of directors.

Philippine Sports Commission chairman Eric Buhain, Philippine Basketball Association commissioner Noli Eala, Philippine Basketball League commissioner Chino Trinidad and Manila Sports Council head Ali Atienza head the list of guests.

The board is made up of Lito Tacujan (Star), chairman, Roberto Cuevas (Standard), Recah Trinidad (Inquirer), Ernie Gonzales (Inquirer), Manolo Inigo (Inquirer), Al Mendoza (Inquirer), Jimbo Gulle (Manila Times), Rey Bancod (Tempo), Dennis Inigo (Balita), Dina Marie Villena (Pilipino Star), Ana Federigan (Taliba), Ed Andaya (People’s Tonight), Tito Deblois (Abante), Ronnie Nathanielsz (Standard), Joaquin Henson (Star), Camilo Mendez (Balita) and Iking Gonzales. Named adviser is Gus Villaneuva.
