These are just some of the exciting and entertaining activities lined up by organizers of Olympex 2004 on March 4 to 7 at the new PICC Exhibition Hall.
Olympex 2004 offers a variety of wholesome activities that will coincide with the first International Sports, Fitness and Leisure Trade Exposition ever to be held in the country.
A broad base of local and foreign exhibitors in the sports and fitness industry is expected to attract thousands of visitors in the four-day event sponsored by FedEx, Air21, Export & Industry Bank, Milo, Speedo, Sta. Lucia, Bankard and Westin Philippine Plaza and presented by the Philippine Olympic Committee and the Department of Tourism.
Leading swimwear manufacturer Speedo will showcase its collection in a fashion parade highlighting the opening ceremony on March 5. Milo BEST Center, Olympism awardee of the POC for sports development, will hold daily basketball clinics for free to young aspirants. Interested parties may register at the POC office at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex or during the event proper.
Sports demonstrations in arnis, taekwondo, aerobics and many more will be presented. A festival of Filipino indigenous games to be participated in by athletes belonging to the Philippine Indigenous Games and Sports Association Inc. (PIGSAI), another Olympism awardee, is expected to draw the publics interest.
National athletes, collegiate teams from the UAAP and NCAA and other sports personalities will be pitted against each other in the "Olympex Battle of Stars." This original competition featuring various personalities in different disciplines aims to show that in sports, its not only victory that matters; theres also fun.
