Tougher, bigger Nestea beach volley set

Seventy-two teams from 46 colleges and universities nationwide are set to compete in the Nestea Beach Volley 2004, organized by the official drink of summer, Nestea.
Now on its eighth year, the Nestea Beach Volley 2004 is the most anticipated sports event of the season. With over P.5 million in cash and prizes at stake, and an even more rigorous screening system, this years competition promises to be more challenging and exciting than ever before.
Among the schools in Luzon represented in the tournament are San Sebastian College-Manila, Central Colleges of the Philippines, University of the Philippines, De La Salle University-College of St. Benilde, Pampanga Agricultural College, UP Los Baños, PATTS, Far Eastern University, Adamson University, Baguio College Foundation, San Sebastian College-Cavite, Bulacan State University, Ateneo de Naga, De La Salle University-Manila, Lyceum, Baguio University, Philippine Christian University-Manila, Letran, PSBA, Philippine Normal University, University of Asia & the Pacific, St. Louis University, Emilio Aguinaldo College, and returning champion San Beda College.
The participating schools from Visayas and Mindanao are Colegio dela Purisima Conception, Foundation University, Iloilo Doctors College, Southwestern University, University of Iloilo, University of San Agustin, University of San Carlos, University of San Jose Recoletos, University of the Visayas, UNO-R, University of Cebu, Siliman University, Ateneo de Davao, Davao Doctors College, Mindanao State University, Misamis University, University of Mindanao, University of Mindanao-Tagum, Western Mindanao State University, Holy Cross of Davao, and Xavier University.
The Luzon elimination of the Nestea Beach Volley 2004 will be held from Feb. 27-29 at Rockwell, Power Plant Mall, Makati City. The Visayas elimination is slated for March 12-13, while the Mindanao elimination is set on March 14. Both the Visayas and Mindanao eliminations will be held at Ayala Center Cebu.
Winners of the three elimination games will then fly to Boracay to compete in the semi-final round on April 16, and the championship game will be held from April 17-18.
The champions for both the mens and womens division will receive P100,000 and a trophy, while their schools will get a trophy and P50,000 worth of sports equipment. Second place winners will get P50,000 and a trophy, while the third placers will get P25,000 and a trophy.
