The Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club will stage its first-ever club championships in April to set off another busy summer schedule for the countrys biggest golf complex.
With the club already establishing a credible handicapping system through the Information Professionals, Inc., Eagle Ridge project director Engr. Winfred Gob said the time is ripe for the club to determine whos the best in various skill levels of both genders.
The stroke play qualifying rounds are scheduled April 3-4 with the top eight players advancing to the quarterfinals where play shifts to match. The semifinals will be held April 11 and the finals April 17.
The entire club championships will be played at the Faldo course, one of the four 18-hole championship courses of Eagle Ridge which is a joint venture project of Sta. Lucia Realty and Alsons Land, Inc.
First to come in as a sponsor is the Consolidated Insurance which will reward a P100,000 prize for a hole-in-one feat on all par-3s during the qualifying rounds. In the event of multiple winners, they will equally share the prize.
The handicap divisions to be contested are championship for players with handicaps of 1 to 5, Class A (6 to 11), Class B (12 to 18), Class C (19-27), Class D (28 and above), the Open ladies division and the seniors category for those 55 years and older.
Gob said that they are hoping to complete the driving range this summer even in time for the club championships. True to Eagles reputation in setting standards in size, the range would become the biggest in the country with a unique double tee design.
Registration is ongoing. Deadline is set March 31. Members are required to accomplish the entry form to be included in the pairings.
