These lady participants represent golf clubs from Negros Occidental, Philippine Navy GC, Alabang Country Club, Victorias GC, Riviera GC, Manila Southwoods,Forest Hills GC, and hosts Baguio Country Club (BCC) and Camp John Hay (CJHGC).
"All systems go for the staging of this historic golf tournament," said Anthony De Leon, general manager of BCC, who is organizing the event together with Bong Vilchez, CJHGC, club manager.
The tournament, which is supported by Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR), Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), WH Consultants Inc., Wilson, Equitable PCI Bank, Rustans and SMART, was set into "Fil" and "Am" divisions.
Each divisions will have team classifications based on the number of players and on the average of three lowest handicaps in the team. A team of five players with the four best scorers to count for the team for the day.
The tournament will be using the 72-hole modified Stableford team competition (Molave point system), with a one-day rest in between.
The event also coincides the launching on Feb. 18 the centennial celebration of BCC, one of the oldest golf clubs in the country.
Taby Tabaniag and National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) executive director Jake Ayson head the tournament management group with Nanette Filler and Freddie Mendoza as tournament coordinators.
