Talk n Text, which bolstered its already formidable lineup with the acquisition of Willie Miller, last night singed up the crowd-drawing slasher of a point to three years worth P11.4 million.
Millers entry to the Phone Pals camp is expected to strengthen the teams backcourt rotation that included 2003 Rookie of the Year Jimmy Alapag and the reliable Patrick Fran.
The 5-foot-10 former Red Bull Barako was shipped to the Phone Pals last December in exchange for a future pick and two players of the Barakos choice except for 2003 MVP Asi Taulava and Alapag.
It was reported that Molet Pineda, Millers agent, opted to test the value of the cager in the free-agent market, prompting Talk n Text to dangle a trade offer for Miller. Observers, however, noted that the Barako management was disgusted over the performance of Miller, particularly in Red Bulls last game with Talk n Text where the spectacular off-guard scored only two points as the Phone Pals bumped off the Barako in the semis race in the Reinforced Conference.
