MCC non-master tilt gets going Dec. 29

The MCC non-master chess tournament unwraps Dec. 29 starting at 9 a.m. at the fourth floor of J&F Divino Bldg. located at 967 Aurora Blvd. Near LRT 2 Anonas Station in Quirino District, Quezon City.

Open to all untitled chessplayers — unrated and rated — regardless of age and sex, the two-day event will apply the seven-round Swiss system and time control of 60 minutes per player.

Up for grabs is a total pot of P15,000 with the champion getting the top prize of P5,000. Cash prizes are broken down to five places. Special award of P500 each also await the top performer in the following categories: 2000 below; unrated (1800 below); kiddies (under 12); juniors (under 20); ladies and seniors.
